SenSura® Mio Colostomy Bag Instructions For Use
SenSura® Mio is an ostomy pouch that promises a better body fit and a greater feeling of security for patients with a colostomy. SenSura Mio achieves this fit and security by using Coloplast's innovative BodyFit™ Technology, a pliable new elastic adhesive that is a first of its kind in the ostomy medical devices industry.
1. Cutting
Trace the size and shape of the stoma on the stoma guide. Cut the hole to fit the size and shape of the stoma. To reduce the risk of leakage and skin problems it is very important that the hole in the adhesive fits perfectly around the stoma. Cutting is easier if you use a curved pair of scissors. Ensure that the skin is clean and dry before you proceed with the
application of your bag.
2.
Removal of protective film
Place a thumb on the white tab on the adhesive and pull the turquoise release tab away to remove the protective film.
3. ApplicationPlace a thumb on the white tab on the adhesive and pull the turquoise release tab away to remove the protective film.
Apply the adhesive around the stoma. To ensure perfect fit, fold the bag backwards, align the adhesive around the stoma and press it firmly onto the skin. Start at the bottom and smooth it upwards with your fingers. The bag has an inspection window to make it easier to position the appliance around the stoma.
4. Removal
Pull down the white removal tab to loosen the adhesive from the skin. Gently remove the adhesive by rolling it step by step downwards. Apply light pressure on the skin with your other hand.

How To Use Brava Moldable Ring - Coloplast's Answer to Eakin's Cohesive Seal
If you have an uneven surface around your stoma, it's likely that you have come across ConvaTec's Eakin Cohesive Seal #839002 or #839001 or Hollister's Adapt Barrier Ring #7805 and #7806. Coloplast has been somewhat absent in this product offering until now. Just a few months ago, they announced their entry with a bang with the Brava Moldable Ring.
Simply use these ostomy rings to fill in cavities or folds in the intact skin around the stoma. This provides a seal between the stoma and the ostomy skin barrier to protect the sensitive skin from stoma output. Use the Brava Moldable Ring and the other ostomy rings WITH any ostomy pouch/skin barrier.
How to use Brava Moldable Rings
1. Removal of the protective paper. Before applying the Moldable Ring, ensure that the skin around the stoma is clean and dry. Remove the ring from the plastic packaging, and then peel off the protective backing from both sides by holding the removal ears.
2. Mold the ring. Mold and stretch the ring to the desired shape.
3. Application. Apply the ring to the skin around the stoma. Adjust the shape again if needed. Mold the paste with your fingers so that the edge of the ring is securely smoothed onto the skin. If you use a 2-piece ostomy appliance, it is possible to apply the ring directly to the coupling side of the barrier, to achieve a snug fit around the stoma.
4. Application of the bag. Apply the ostomy bag as normal.
5. Removal. After usage, gently remove the appliance from the skin. The moldable ring should come off together with the adhesive. However, if it remains on the skin, simply remove the modable ring afterwards.
6. Disposal. The product should be disposed of together with household waste. Do not flush the product down the toilet.

How To Remove Ostomy Paste - Stomahesive Paste, Adapt Barrier Paste and More!
Below is the procedure to remove ConvaTec's Stomahesive Paste!
Stomahesive Paste
is not a glue or adhesive, but a filler or caulking agent to smooth the
area of skin around your stoma to create a flat surface for the ostomy
appliance. It does contain alcohol so it may sting if your skin if it
contacts an open wound or skin ulcer. Stomahesive Paste is one of the
most popular ostomy accessories we sell and it works great so long as you know how to remove it!
The removal process is simple and easy. Just remove the ostomy skin barrier by supporting the skin with one hand and gently peel the skin barrier away from your skin. Adhesive remover wipes such as AllKare Adhesive Remover Wipes or Smith & Nephew Uni-Solve Wipes are commonly used. If you don't get all of the Stomahesive Paste removed, used warm water and a soft cloth get the excess. It isn't necessary to remove all of the paste before a new application of an ostomy appliance. It is better just to leave it than to irritate the skin with scrubbing.

ConvaTec Closed End Ostomy Pouch |
Looking for suppliers of colostomy bags? Search no further. The Parthenon Company carries complete ostomy product lines of all the major manufacturers AND guarantees the lowest price! We have been serving our valued customers since 1961 and take great price in providing exceptional customer service and prices.
What is a colostomy bag? It is an ostomy bag that adheres to your abdomen to collect feces from your stoma. A stoma, in this case, is an intestinal diversion to route stool and flatus out of the body. This can result from colon cancer, knife/gunshot wounds and other GI trauma. Sometimes a colostomy bag is needed for a lifetime while it is a temporary situation for other people. Hundreds of thousands of people have them and at least a hundred thousand per year are added to the population.
Social stigma prevents many people from disclosing that they have a colostomy and it can be a real challenge for some people to be sociable after recovering from the surgery. Luckily there have been significant advances in products offered. They accommodate all body types and skin sensitivities. Parthenon is happy to assist you in getting in touch with a manufacturer to obtain a sample product! Just call us 1-800-453-8898
Major colostomy bag manufacturers are Coloplast, ConvaTec, Hollister, and Nu-Hope.

Basic Skills In Caring For a Urostomy
During The Day
Urinary ostomy pouches are drainable with a valve at the end to control the back flow of urine. It is necessary to drain your urostomy pouch during the day. Usually it is every 2 to 4 hours depending on how much fluid you drink. It is generally recommended to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.
During The Night
Urostomy pouch systems can be attached to "night" drainage bags such as the Bard Bedside Night Drainage Bag 154502. All brands have this ability and these bags have a larger capacity so you don't have to empty it as frequently during sleeping hours.
To connect to the night drainage bag:
Attached the adapter on the night drain bag.
Connect the end of the urostomy pouch to the connector of the tubing.
Open the pouch tap
Check the tubing for kinks and remove them.
Night drain bags can stand free or hang on the side of your bed.
When it becomes time to empty your night drain bag:
Close the valve at the end of the pouch.
Remove the tubing from the pouch.
Empty the urine from the drain bag and rinse it with water.

Hostomy Ostomy Pouch Sizing - How To Get The Right Fit
How to Size Hollister Pouches
A properly fitted ostomy pouch is essential to minimize stomal and skin irritation and obtain optimum pouch wear time. A stoma measuring guide allows correct measurement of the stoma. Measure the stoma accurately. Select the smallest barrier opening which fits comfortably around the stoma without actually touching it. Too large an opening will leave skin exposed and could lead to skin irritation or erosion.
Parthenon is a leading distributor of ostomy products. We proudly sell the complete line of Hollister ostomy supplies. Not only that, we will beat any advertised price in the country! Try us out next time you are shopping. You and your wallet will be glad you did.
